In the next year, Prithvi Shaw was the captain of the U19 Indian national team to join in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018 in New Zealand. Then, U19 Indian cricket team was the champion of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018 after beating Australia by 8 wickets in the final match.  

In the same year, he was awarded as the player of the match in the match against Australia in Youth One Day International. Prithvi Shaw has joined in his first Test match in October, 2018. In this match. he scored a century and was awarded as the Man of the Series.
