While Minecraft is a fairly peaceful game, there's no shortage of dangerous mobs once you wandered outside of the beaten path. In this article, we are going to list the top 5 deadliest mobs in Minecraft. This list won't include bosses like Ender Dragon or the Wither.

1. Evoker

Evokers are probably the most dangerous non-boss enemy in Minecraft. They are spellcasters that can deal a lot of damage with their attacks.

The evoker has two different attack methods: fang attack and summoning a small mob called vexes. The vexes chase after the player and deal damage - this is the main reason that Evokers are hard to deal with. Players need to kill the vexes before they can deal too much damage.

2. Creeper

A creeper is a common hostile mob that silently approaches players and explodes. Due to their distinctive appearance and high potential for killing unwary players as well as damaging the environment and players' constructions, creepers have become one of the icons of Minecraft, both among players and non-players.

The Charged variant of the creeper can deal even higher damage in a larger AoE.

While terrifying, they are one of the best sources for Gunpowder and mob heads in Minecraft.

3. Ravager

Ravagers are large bull mobs that only spawn in Pillager Raids. Similar to the Enderman, Ravagers can also close the distance between them and the player very quickly with their charge attack. These charges deal massive damage and knock the player back 5 blocks - which can be dangerous if you are on high ground.

During raids, Ravagers can also spawn with various Pillagers riding on top of them, creating the Ravager Jockey... which is even deadlier. To deal with Ravagers, players can build some Iron Golems.

4. Ghast

A ghast is a large white floating ghost-like hostile mob in the Nether that shoots explosive fireballs at the player. A direct hit deals 6 projectile damage from the impact, and up to 9,  17 or 25 explosion damage from the blast, depending on difficulty.

Overall, Ghasts are one of the most annoying mobs in the game if players don't have a ranged weapon to deal with them. While deflecting a fireball back to the Ghast is an option, it can be tricky when facing multiple ones.

5. Enderman

An enderman is a neutral mob found in all three dimensions. Endermen can teleport and pick up blocks As they spawn in groups of 4, fighting multiple of them at the same time can be pretty tricky. Ranged attacks are ineffective against endermen as projectiles are hard-coded to not hit them.

When fighting Endermen in Minecraft, it is recommended to attack their legs to prevent their teleports. Endermen are not provoked by a player viewing it through a transparent block or while wearing a carved pumpkin, therefore, when exploring the Nether, it is best to prepare a carved pumpkin.
