Weapons are one of the most important aspects of any video game, and Minecraft is not an exception to this rule. The game's weapon system is rather barebones - players only have a handful of gear to choose from, which can get boring after a while.
By installing one or more of these weapon mods, players would be able to enjoy a much bigger variety of swords in Minecraft. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 10 best mods for swords in Minecraft 2023.
1. MC Dungeons Weapons
Minecraft Dungeons is an ARPG based on the world of Minecraft. It has a unique and intensive weapon system, containing all kinds of weaponry that the original game does not have.
Have you ever wanted to have weapons from Minecraft Dungeons in your Minecraft world? Well, now that's possible! MC Dungeons Weapons (MCDW) aims to (eventually) bring all of these weapons, and more, from Minecraft Dungeons to Minecraft.
Right now, there are 150 weapons added to the game ranging from flails to katanas to crossbows and bows. They all have crafting recipes and they show up in REI, which isn't required, but is HIGHLY recommended.
2. Spartan Weaponry
Weapons Galore! Spartan Weaponry is a whole new arsenal of weapons made for Minecraft. Inspired by Balkon's WeaponMod, it adds new versions of weapons from that mod, as well as expanding the arsenal with a bunch of original weapons, including a variety of swords, polearms, and blunt and ranged weapons.
Most of these weapons can be made from the five vanilla tool materials. Each of the weapons (with the exceptions of the Quarterstaff, Caestus, Longbow and Crossbow) has various weapon traits to give you different strategic options during combat. Below is a list of all 24 new weapons:
- Bladed Weapons: Dagger, Longsword, Greatsword, Katana, Saber, Rapier, Battleaxe, Glaive
- Blunt Weapons: Quarterstaff, Club, Battle Hammer, Warhammer, Cestus, Mace

The mod also adds a number of new unique weapons that players can acquire. Opening any chest throughout your adventures yields a chance to obtain unique weaponry with powerful abilities. Additionally, Simply Swords also support Mythic Metal and Gobber, which results in over 200 new weapons.
4. Enchanted Swords texture pack
This is one of the most lore-friendly packs for Minecraft weapons. The Enchanted Swords texture pack adds additional effects to your item based on the enchantment they have. For example, if you have Fire Aspect, your sword will emit fire from its blade.
In case of multiple sword enchantments, the various effects will be combined with each other, creating a brand new special effect.

Rex's pack is one of the biggest texture packs for Minecraft. It is a massive futuristic themed weapon pack that includes 500 custom textures, over 30 animated items, and blocks, all in 32x32 textures. Furthermore, the pack also has a custom font, title screen, and exp bar.
This pack is in development and is constantly updated. Currently, the author has only focused on weapons, tools, armor, and items.
6. Kal's Arms & Armor
Kal's Arms & Armor pack is a fresh take on the traditional Minecraft textures. Drawing inspiration from other dark fantasy worlds, this pack provides textures with more detail and will look great in your medieval worlds while still being recognizable.
Furthermore, Kal's Arms & Armor also includes damaged item textures, something other mods do not have. There are also light and heavy variants for all armor types, which players can toggle by renaming using an anvil.
7. Epic Fight
Epic Fight revamps the vanilla combat system in Minecraft for both players and hostile mobs. This mod took inspiration from RPGs, with a lot of new features that RPG fans will instantly recognize.

8. Shattered Ring
Shattered Ring is a modpack inspired by the hit game Elden Ring. Featuring an all-new combat system, new weapons, dozens of new intimidating enemies, and hundreds of points of interest to discover. The weapons come from many different places, some from movies, others from the imagination, but mostly from other game titles such as League of Legends or the Dark Souls/Bloodborne franchise. When you kill bosses in Minecraft, they will now drop a Lord Soul item, which you can use to craft the more powerful weapons, while other weapons, such as the Hunter Blunderbuss for example, only requires items such as iron.
10. Gobber
The Gobber mod is designed to make playing Minecraft more fulfilling by providing enhanced armor, tools, and weapons. Additionally, the mod provides special items (rings, staffs, and medallions) that provide a variety of quality of life enhancements and convenience perks.
