It was only a couple of weeks ago that we received the news that Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, a Lego-themed RPG for mobile, was open for pre-registration. However, it seems that Lego feels like that’s not enough to satisfy mobile gamers, and so we are now getting another Lego mobile game on the way. Titled Lego Star Wars Battles, it will be a strategy game that's scheduled to launch next year on both Android and iOS.
Not a lot of information about this game is available at the moment, but from what we know so far, it’ll be a hybrid between a strategy game and a deck builder. Players will create a deck with various familiar Star Wars characters to build Lego towers and defend them, eventually gaining territory over the enemy.
Of course, characters from all 9 mainline movies as well as spinoffs like The Clone Wars and Rogue One will make an appearance here. As a result, players can expect a massive roster to choose from, ranging from the iconic figures such as Darth Vader to those as small as Porgs – you know, the cute creatures that we see living with Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. The game will also feature all the vehicles that we know and love such as the Millennium Falcon or AT-ATs.
The fan service doesn’t end there either, as you’ll also get to unlock plenty of new areas to fight in as you progress, all of which are based on famous locations in the Star Wars universe. A few examples include the icy planet of Hoth, Scariff – the setting for the final arc of Rogue One, and more.
Lego Star Wars Battles will be available on both Google Play and the App Store sometime in 2020. It will be a free-to-play release with IAPs included.
