1. How to acquire Glow Berries for seeding

There are 2 ways to get glow berries for creating a farm. Players can either loot them inside Dungeon chests or harvest them from cave vines in the lush cave biome.

To locate a lush cave, a player must first locate an azalea tree on the surface of the overworld. Azalea looks almost identical to an oak tree, except for the presence of purple flowers growing on it. Once you find one, dig down and trace its roots until you reach the lush cave biome below.

Be very careful not to fall to the bottom if you are standing from a high location, as falling more than a few blocks high can cause damage to a player depending on the height. Afterward, move around the cave system to harvest the berries. Just destroy the cave vine they are clinging to for them to drop down.

2. How to create your Glow Berry farm

Glow berries can be placed on and grown from the bottom of most blocks. They have no specific lighting requirements. When placed, they become cave vines, and each cave vine block will have a one out of nine chance to grow a single glow berry. However, you can forcefully make the cave vine produce a glow berry by simply using a bone meal on the cave vine itself.

Below is a step by step guide to creating a simple glow berry farm:

Step 1

Prepare any stack of blocks for building such as cobblestones or planks. As glow berry can only be grown on the underside of a block, players need to build a platform in the air, of any size they want.

Step 2

Place the grow berries on the underside of the platform for them to glow into cave vines.

Step 3

Create an automatic collection system. Just place a system of chest + piston + observer + hopper under the vine. The hopper should be connected to the chest in order for the glow berries to be transported inside the chest automatically. Players can make as many of these based on the size of the farm.
