In the upcoming Fontaine update of Genshin Impact, players will have the opportunity to obtain a free four-star character. This update will introduce a plethora of new characters to the game, giving players even more options to enhance their roster. Four-star characters have a lower pity requirement, meaning players won't need to spend an excessive amount of Primogems to get them.
For those unknown, the pity system in Genshin Impact ensures that within 10 wishes, players are guaranteed to receive one featured four-star character. However, it's important to note that these odds are divided among three different units. Additionally, Genshin Impact often offers players the chance to obtain a four-star character for free by completing specific objectives in limited-time events. This provides players with an additional opportunity to expand their roster without having to rely solely on wishes.
Who will be the free 4-star character in Genshin Impact 4.0?
As per a recent post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, it has been revealed that players will have the opportunity to obtain Lynette for free in the upcoming update 4.0. HoYoverse announced the character recently and leaks suggest that she will have a four-star rarity.
Regarding Lynette's element, her official splash art confirms that she will be an Anemo user. It is anticipated that she will have excellent synergy with her brother, Lyney. Both characters are magicians and appeared in the recently released "Overture Teaser: The Final Feast" promotional video.
Players are speculating that the main storyline of update 4.0 will revolve around these two characters, who seem to possess a darker side, as hinted in the teaser.
More details you need to know
Contrary to their initial friendly appearances, Lyney's true nature seems to be a cunning individual who prioritizes himself and his sister above all else. On the other hand, Lynette is anticipated to be a new four-star support character, capable of fitting into various team compositions due to her possession of an Anemo Vision.
Lynette's Elemental Skill will come in two variations. Tapping this skill will trigger an Enigma Thrust attack, dealing area-of-effect Anemo damage and restoring a portion of her HP. However, if you hold the skill, Lynette will apply the Shadowing effect to nearby enemies, diverting their attention away from allies.
Besides, Lynette's Elemental Burst will summon a Bogglecat Box. Functioning similarly to Mona's Phantom of Fate ability, it will taunt all nearby enemies. Depending on the element infused into the box, be it Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo, it will unleash different types of damage.
Fans have expressed their admiration for the fact that both Lyney and Lynette possess the ability to taunt enemies, allowing them to create distance and strategically reposition themselves during battles. While both characters have been officially confirmed for Genshin Impact version 4.0, there is currently no information available regarding their specific placement in upcoming banners.
