The higher the value, the later you receive the information from the server and vice versa. Low ping is crucial to having a lag-free PUBG Mobile experience. To check our ping when in the game, direct your eyes to the bottom left corner of the screen. You can check this value at any time you want during a match. You want to keep the number stable in green color. 

How to Check FPS in PUBG Mobile

Frame per second, or FPS for short, shows how many frames are displayed on your device in a second. The higher the figure, the smoother you can see the game runs. Low frame rate means you will have quite a choppy experience and miss a lot of actions as well as animation. The processing power of your phone will determine the frame limit. Visit the settings to set the FPS according to your phones. 

Unfortunately, PUBG Mobile doesn’t come with a tool to check your FPS in-game. Some brands provide utility services to monitor the FPS, such as the Game Turbo in Xiaomi/Redmi devices, or Perf Z and Gamebooster on Samsung devices. There are also apps that display this value, but we won’t recommend you using them. They count as third-party programs and can result in permanent bans.

PUBG has been hinting that the Panzerfaust will be added to the game ever since the start of Season 6 in the trailer of Karakin and now it is actually coming in the update 6.3 with other weapon balances. Let's check it out below.

New Weapon: Panzerfaust

The most important part of this update is the addition of the Panzerfaust to Karakin. The Panzerfaust will spawn around the map and always appear in airdrops. It's a one-time use weapon that has an effective range of up to 150 meters. The weapon can launch an explosive warhead that will explode on impact and deal damage to players in a 6 meters radius. The explosion can deal damage to players through thin walls and objects. It can also be used to destroy breach points on Karakin just like the Sticky Bomb.

A few important things you need to know about the Panzerfaust:

• After the warhead is launched the weapon will be discarded and can't be used again.
• The Panzerfaust will create a backblast 3 meters behind the weapon when fires so make sure none of your teammates is behind you.
• The projectile of the Panzerfaust is pretty fast, but players from far away can still dodge it or even explode it mid-air with a bullet.
• The Panzerfaust will take up a Primary Weapon slot.

Other Weapon Changes

M249

The M249 will spawn on Erangel and Miramar instead of appearing in airdrops. The stats of the weapon has been changed to make it more balanced.

• The default capacity is reduced to 75 bullets but can be boosted to 150 bullets with an Extended Mag.
• The recoil of M249 is increased but it has an additional Stock attachment slot.
• Based damage is reduced from 45 to 40.

Tommy Gun

The infamous Tommy Gun is one of the oldest weapons in PUBG, but no one wants to use it because it has everything but a scope. In this update, the gun now can be equipped with a Red Dot or a Holo. The recoil and fire rate of the weapon are also improved slightly.

UMP-45

The UMP-45 was over nerf the last time, and now the dev is buff its damage and accuracy for a little bit.

It's the product from the developer Cloud Imperium, and along the multiplayer spaceship-themed Star Citizen, the developer also introduced its single narrative game with the same universe: Squadron 42.

However, people are starting to doubt Squadron 42 possibility to become real after some consecutive delay. But it turns out the developer is saving a treat for supporters for Chrismas, as yesterday, it has released a brand new trailer showing the visual of the single-player spaceflight simulator.

The story of Squadron 42

Squadron 42 will tell the story of the whole universe from Cloud Imperium's titles, including Star Citizen. You don't need to play Squadron 42 before getting into the multiplayer elements of Star Citizen, but it's still worth trying indeed, since its story is very intriguing and give you some inspiration to grind in the other game.

To be more specific, Squadron 42 will take you to the journey of protecting the Earth from the invasion from another planet's civilization - the Vanduul. The developer even refers this invasion to have the same scale as the Visigoths and Vandals invasion back in the time of the Roman Empire.

Stepping on the role of a newly-enlisted of the United Empire of Earth, you'll have to learn about other mates working on the central ship, while making decisions on how to face and get over missions as well as brutal enemies out there.

Gameplay features

Overall, Squadron 42 is a single-player narrative game with a mixture of RPG and adventure elements. Stepping in the role of a crew member in the capital vessels you'll learn about the story-driven campaign through a system of missions and interacting with other people there. They'll open up the story of the Earth Navy, as well as the mystery behind the Vanduul.

Apart from the interaction, you can also dive into the new level of combat in Squadron 42, which brings you from the most extensive space conflicts to back to the ground of the spaceship. Release date

Squadron 42 was first promised to come out with Star Citizen back in the first days of its Kickstarter campaign in 2014. And the result, as you know, both games were delayed multiple times before the latest schedule of Q3 2020 Alpha testing. Whether there will be another delay? It's very hard to tell, but from the trailer we've seen above, it's very likely that pledgers will be able to test the game right on schedule.

Meanwhile, Star Citizen Alpha 3.8 is available to purchase now. It has surpassed the record of 2500 Lakh USD after six years in the crowd-funding state, and almost reached 2600 Lakh USD after only one month of crossing the last milestones.

Overview on Trepang2

In the previous article, we didn't know much about the game's concept and key gameplay features, but this time, it's different. In addition to the free demo, the developer Trepang Studio also gives us some information about the gun-fu FPS gameplay of Trepang2 to impress players.

To be more specific, Trepang2 will put you to the authentic situation where you will step into the role of a prisoner of a secret blacksite. Even though you don't remember anything about your identity and lost most of your memories, your shooting skills are crafted into your blood.

One day, a mysterious gang has sneaked into the site and rescue you from the restrictions of the dense guards. It cannot be a better chance to recover your memories, and you'll have to fight back with your superhuman's fighting abilities to find the truth and save the world.

Even though its story sounds very intriguing, its gameplay is the focal point indeed. Following the concept of F.E.A.R, Trepang2 is somehow even more violent and bloody with the power from Unreal Engine 4. You'll take control of the main character from the first-person perspective, and embarks in the secret prison journey against hundreds of guards fully-armed.

The only advantages that you have against them are surprise and your mastery in combats. The fights don't stop from just taking cover stealthily and shoot your enemies down, but you can also perform some melee maneuvers like kicking, punching and sliding as well. But the gunfight is what makes this game outstanding, with the detailed body-dismemberment and slow-down-time abilities.

What's new in this free demo

The second demo of Trepang2 will get you through the prologue of the stories, as well as a horde mode in which you can freely show off your gun-fu prowess against 30+ waves of guards.

So today, we have Receiver 2 - a game that was called "QWOP for guns". 'QWOP' is a flash game in 2008 where people have to control the thighs of a marathon runner using the keys Q and W, and the calves by O and P.

Basically, Receiver 2 is a first-person shooting game that portrays even the smallest details of guns in order to make it functions normally. It requires you to properly load and unload your bar, fix malfunctions and learn how to use every firearm properly based on researches on how guns were made and use in real life.

Overview on Receiver 2

The developer Wolffire Games doesn't give us much information about the game's concept yet, but from the trailer, we can guess something. Receiver 2 will takes the settings of a dystopian world, where everyone's life in middle America was threatened by a mysterious threat. The plague has rapidly spread over the cities, causing total disarray over the scene.

Millions were affected by this sickness, making them the minions of the so-called Mindkill - which we cannot know for sure what it is unless we turn into the Awakened. Sick as it may sounds, this game will not feature any type of human- or animal-killing, but solely rotates around shooting machines or drones.

And while we might have to wait for a bit longer to learn more about the Threat in this game, its gameplay features were revealed in detail. To be more specific, Receiver II will take almost exactly the gameplay structure from the first installment, but every feature will be enhanced to pack in more things.

Key features

Hence, Receiver 2 still lies in the FPS genre, but I will call it more of a realistic gun simulator thanks to its specific gun mechanic realism. You'll learn more about the story of this game by shooting down drones and picking up items revealing about the nature of Mindkill, but that's the main focus of this game. Instead, it focuses more on simulating everything about a gun that other shooters failed to do.

Basically, the developer has taken reference from realistic researches on guns' mechanics from manufacturers and portrays them in an arcade-like shooter. For example, you'll learn more about the parts that form a gun, how they connect with each other and how a gun will function as a whole pack.

It includes how to manually unload your bar, fill bullets in and reload it, or how to fix your gun if it failed to shoot properly. Wolffire is very proud to state that every gun model in this game is made from the spring and pin level, and you'll experience all of the making progress by yourself by playing the game later.

Secondly, there will not be bullet-spamming in Receiver 2, as it follows the physics-based concept. You can blow every kind of enemy up with only one shot thanks to the ballistic simulation that was made based on research on textbooks of shooting incidents, including penetration, ricochets and bullet drop.

Release date

Receiver 2 will come out for PC in 2020, but there hasn't been a specific release date for that yet.

And since the developer is still hiding its story, we might see several reveal teasers of the game in the future, and we'll update them for you. Stay tuned!

The biggest name of the team-based first-person shooter in the industry right now is CS: GO, but Valve should be noticed about Ironsight. Specifically, it's a new game with a similar concept, but owning a wider range of customization for the weapons as well as other things to control aside from your guns as well.

The 'ultimate free first-person shooter' - that's what the developer Wiple Games and the publisher Aeria Games described their most ambitious title. And through the first footages of the game in the trailer, they definitely have the reasons to call it so. You can see how completed the beta version of Ironsight in that trailer below:

The concept of Ironsight

Ironsight takes the settings of a futuristic world, where the world has been devastated by a natural catastrophe, leaving behind a lot of negative consequences. Oil has now completely evaporated after the disaster and is no longer sufficient to provide power for cities and facilities.

However, humankind has come across with another alternative, Trinitium. It does not only temporarily solve the Earth's power crisis, but also grants human access to advanced technology, end up giving birth to drones and other equipment for the military as well.

But then, problems rise again, as Trinitium is the last natural resource remaining, and it's not unlimited. Hence, the two major factions - the Energy Development Enterprise Network (EDEN) and the North Atlantic Federation (NAF) now have to fight endlessly on potentially the last battle on Earth to gain control over the last sources of Trinitium.

Bringing modern equipment and weapons to battlefields scattering all over the world, blasting your opponents away to take over the Trinitium!

Gameplay features

According to the developer, Ironsight is a modern first-person shooter that was built on the base of Iron Engine with innovative gameplay. From the first look at the trailer, it looks very similar to Valve's FPS Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but the title from Wiple Games certainly has some special features under its sleeve.

To be more specific, Ironsight provides over 100 weapons, and all of them are customizable. The weapons range from all of the kinds that you've known: pistol, SMGs, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Shotguns and more. However, all of those guns were remake to match the concept of a dystopian world, and players can also change them to whatever colors and patterns you love.

The guns are not the only thing that's customizable in this game, as you can also make changes to your character as well. However, you might not want to make your soldier too colorful because you might become the targets of the other team. This happens especially with certain types of maps with specific weather conditions.

The war zones and climate conditions are not only there for the visuals, but they can actually affect how you'll approach each game. In detail, there are more than 14 distinctive combat zones that take the inspiration from real-world locations, and the developer has stuffed in those maps with the interactive environment and destructible route.

But above all, the things that elevate the tactical level of this game are the drones and advanced artillery. Players are equipped with a drone that provides a lot of functions: scouting, raining fires or dropping mechs to enhance gunfires. That's the features that will separate Ironsight from the current FPS in the industry, but whether it's suitable for an eSports title is still a huge question.

Redhill Games is a brand new name in the gaming industry, but it actually consists of veterans from many triple-A companies, including the ex-CEO of Remedy - Mika Reini. That's why people are expecting a lot out of their debut title Nine to Five - a multiplayer shooter with unique round-based mechanics.

Nine to Five marks the debut of Redhill Games in The Game Award 2019, featuring one of the weirdest reveal trailers at the event. I don't want to spoil too much for you before you watch the trailer yourself, but don't give up if you feel baffled by the stupid animation hares with their assault rifles. A twist is waiting for you, and stay with us to the end of this trailer.

Below is our summary on Nine to Five's introduction, but let's see what's special about this game via the TGA 2019 trailer first:

Overview on Nine to Five

According to Redhill Games, Nine to Five takes the settings of a futuristic world, where giant corporations have taken control of everything. Hence, this world sees a new job becoming an ordinary one in normal life: mercenary.

Nine-to-five refers to the job that starts from 9 a.m to 5 p.m, which is the ordinary daily job of people. Mercenaries work for corporations on missions to fulfill their employers' tasks about disputes. Working with other mercenaries, you'll enjoy outsmarting your counterparts.

The concept of this game is not new anymore, but enough to give players background knowledge on what they're fighting for. And instead of focusing on creating a quirky story, the developer emphasizes on making Nine to Five's gameplay outshine other shooters in the scenes now.

In detail, Nine to Five is a tactical team-based FPS that takes a new approach to the aging genre. According to the developer, it thinks that a lot of modern first-person shooting games now are too frantic and random, which overall lessen the fun of players while playing the game. Most of the time, they'll head to the gunfire, dies and start again, and there's nothing special about them.

So, Nine to Five was made to be different. Instead of simply bringing your gun to the battles and leave your life on fate to decide, you'll enjoy every progress you've made. To be more specific, the game will put three teams, each team with three players, on a tactical fight that will last for three rounds, each with a clear objective.

The special thing about that is the results of the previous round will decide how your team will start in the next round - including money pool, conditions, and many more. Hence, you and your teammates will have to spend more time thinking about the tactics for each round, stepping into the shoes of other teams in order to outsmart them. This progress will continue every round, forcing players to adapt to certain situations and coming up with new strategies to secure the final victory.

Release date and supported platforms

Overall, Nine to Five is a shooter that encourages players to make benefits of their mind and teamwork over personal skills and reflexes. The game is still under development for PC now, but as the game is an online multiplayer shooter, the developer Redhill Games wants to get more feedback from the players before fully launching the game.

Hence, it has announced that it will soon open the alpha test of Nine of Five in early 2020. Players interested can register right now at the game's official site to secure a chance to get in.

Shooters have been one of the biggest and most common genres in the gaming industry, since the success of Wolfenstein 3D almost 30 years ago. Since then, the shooter genre has been constantly changing, with all the graphical updates, better physics, and even an Esports scene. The core mechanic of the genre, the shooting mechanics, have also evolved. There are games that could mimic the real thing super well. Below are some of the methods that games used for bullets.

1 – Hitscan

In the past, many games used a technique named raycasting to render the 3D assets into 2D images displayed on your screen – that technique required the engine to ascertain the first item intersected by a ray. Hitscan was created when the same thing was applied to the muzzle of a gun.

This is how a Hitscan weapon would work – when a bullet was shot, the engine will:

Check the direction that the gun is pointing and cast a ray from the muzzle of the gun. Use raycasting afterward to see if it hits anything. If the object was determined to be hit – the engine would notify the target with a message so that the damage calculation would start.

Hitscan is simple and could be further modified to add various new elements. For example, a rail gun would just be a normal gun, but with the ray continues past after the first thing it hit. Bullet drop would be a slightly downward ray. A laser would be a ray without any range limit. Bouncing bullets can also be achieved using raycasting as well.

The best part about this method is that its very fast. No real bullets were fired from the gun, so no processing time was lost. It is also great in syncing multiple clients, as the server only needs to store the ray’s direction. Recoil is pretty simple to add. Hitscan was very popular back then and even now, there are a great many games still use it. Various characters from Overwatch have Hitscan weapons, along with many guns in Call of Duty.

What’s the weakness of this method?

Rays are too fast – once fired, they reach the target instantly. The lack of travel time is rather unrealistic. Adding a slight delay wouldn’t really change the outcome, as it would sometimes result in a “homing bullet”. Secondly, it is impossible to change the direction of a straight ray after it has been fired. Which means you cannot add any additional factors such as wind or gravity.

Hitscan is very popular in casual shooters, as the method simplifies how guns work – you can just point at things and press the button. What about those games which aim to create a more immersive experience? An alternate method called “Projectile Ballistics” is used.

2 - Projectile Ballistics

This method would spawn a real physical object every time a bullet is shot. The projectile would have its own velocity, mass, and hitbox, which would be tracked by the engine separately. Projectile Ballistics would shine if your main goal is realism. Since each bullet is their own thing, you can factor in various side elements such as gravity, wind, friction and even temperature now. With this method, other weapons with slow-moving projectiles like a rocket or grenade launcher would be available to the players as well.

Since bullets in this system are their own objects, you can also add several more features to your game like bullet-time (slowing down the game's speed so that you can see even the bullets firing out of your guns), travel time and delayed explosions. Bullet travel time is pretty important as it is one of the biggest factors for realism in most shooters.

This method is rather taxing to the system, however, with various new calculations factored in. Both your own system and the server would have to work a lot more to make sure all entities are in sync with each other. Connection problems would affect the quality of the game severely. There are ways to get more performance while still using projectiles: You can spawn all the objects needed before the game happen then “teleport” them in to do all the work. The system won’t have to create new objects over and over – which leads to a drop in memory cost.

3 - Hybrid System

Most modern game engines are able to use both Hitscan and Projectile Ballistics. This would give the developers the flexibility to add even more types of weapons. You can have various weapons with different properties in the same game.

Two different techniques can also be used to cover each other’s weaknesses. To minimize the issues that were caused by connection problems such as object phasing, each bullet can be used to draw a ray after every tick of the engine so that it could recognize the phasing problem and react accordingly.

Hitscan can also be used to enhance existing features in-game. The slow-motion showcases in the Sniper Elite series is a great example, as the engine uses hitscan to check if the bullet is going to be close enough to the target to trigger the effect. If all conditions are met, the gun would execute the action with projectile ballistics.

Overall, the ways bullets work in video games are pretty simple, with developers focusing more on making smaller adjustments instead of implementing massive changes. The hybrid approach would certainly be the norm in the future, as it provides the developer with more flexibility. Currently, the computing power of devices can easily handle most types of ballistic projectiles.

GTFO is a 4-player co-op FPS game from 10 Chambers Collective. You will play as a prisoner who is kidnapped by a being called the Warden and locked in an underground facility that is full of monsters. You and other prisoners there will be forced to go through the facility and complete different tasks assigned by the Warden.

GTFO introduces players to a new concept of "RUN DOWN". RUN DOWN is the work order of tasks that the Warden gives you. Each icon will represent a mission that is placed in a different part of the facility. Each mission will have different challenges and difficulties. These missions are divided into tiers. Tiers that are lower on the RUN DOWN are placed deeper into the facility while being much harder than higher tiers. Each RUN DOWN has a timer. When this timer runs out, the current RUN DOWN will be replaced with a new one that has completely different challenges and works order.

You will be playing with 3 other players to complete these missions and explore the world inside the facility. You can play alone, but I am sure you wouldn't want to do that. These are hard-core missions that are designed for 4 players. You will run out all of your ammo and health before you can actually do anything.

The monsters here are extremely sensitive so try to be as sneaky as possible to avoid attention. The game doesn't have a voice chat system at the moment so you should communicate with your team through Discord to plan out ahead and work corporately. Discuss the strategy with your team before a run to decide what to equip and what tools to use. Try to focus to take down one enemy at a time with your team.

GTFO is coming to PC through Steam's Early Access later this year.

Earlier this month, we've announced you about a new first-person PvE shooter namely GTFO. It's the brainchild of the developer 10 Chambers Collective - the team that consists of creators behind the highly acclaimed PAYDAY and PAYDAY 2. GTFO follows the same concept of 4-player co-op, but not to commit epic crimes, but to explore the deadly facilities.

Unfortunately, back in that announcement, the game is not available to play for every user, since only ones that registered for the early test through Discord are able to try the game. However, this time is different, since the developer 10 Chambers Collective has revealed that GTFO will be available on Steam Early Access very soon, allowing every excited user to have a look!

The story of GTFO

GTFO takes the main settings of a hidden facility lying underground, which you and your friends will have to discover. To be more specific, your crew was the prisoners of "The Warden", and they've sent you and your pals down to this complex. Your task here is to explore the dark and horrifying scenes to extract the priceless artifacts deep down the facility.

However, the complex has more sinister things than just its darkness. The hostile monsters are all over the place and become even more deadly in the shadow. Together, your crew must find weapons and tools to help you survive while discovering the secret behind your path.

Like the name of the game says, let's get the f- out of here!

The 'Rundown' features

Details on the GTFO's gameplay features appeared on our previous article on the game, which you can have a look here. But besides the first-person co-op shooting elements and the looting mechanics, this reveal has opened up the idea on a brand new feature called the 'Rundown'.

To be more specific, it's basically a huge map drawing show you the overall looks as well as the details of the complex. It's divided into a lot of parts, marked by the tiers A, B, C, D and so on, and was ranked with difficulty levels. The easiest ones are on the highest levels, and the deeper you head down the facility, the harder your journey will become.

But that's not the only special thing about the Rundown. In fact, it works basically like a procedurally-generating mechanic, which will refresh the complex and its levels to a whole new one. There will be a timer below each Rundown, and when the timer runs out, the facility will be completely reset. This feature adds a whole new level of difficulty into GTFO, since you'll have to complete your plan ahead of time, or else, you'll have to come up with the whole new one with the new Rundown.

The Rundown will not appear from the void, as the developer needs some developing times to bring the new ones online. 10 Chambers Collective also promised that it will continue to bring regular updates in time for each Rundown to end. Bigger Rundowns will be likely to last for a month, while smaller ones will be available for one or two weeks.

Release date

We haven't got any official release date of GTFO yet, but the developer has planned to release the game for Steam Early Access later this year. And since we're getting closer to December now, we might not have to wait much longer to try this hardcore co-op first-person shooter!

The recent FPS craze Call of Duty: Mobile has taken the world by storm with its PC-quality gaming experience. Other FPS mobile games like PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire have also accumulated a decent fanbase around the world. And now we have another title coming to the list – Red Dot. The game is now in soft launch in Singapore for Android.

While Red Dot is scheduled for global release next year, Singaporean fans can experience the game first-hand now on Android devices. However, regions outside of Singapore will be barred from accessing the game due to the regional block. If you are keen on trying out the new game, a little trick with location change may help.

Red Dot - A promising FPS game on mobile

Red Dot has also released a trailer to reveal more about the graphics and gameplay. 3 game modes will be available in Red Dot. This includes the popular Team Deathmatch mode – which is common in most FPS games nowadays. The Team Deathmatch mode is pretty the same as in Call of Duty, CrossFire, or CS:GO.

Red Dot also features a Battle Royale mode – namely PK Mode. It will be pretty much the same stuff as most Battle Royale games nowadays like PUBG or Free Fire. You spawn in a location and try to gather the necessary equipment and weapons to survive the battle.
