Oracle of Seasons

The Oracle of Seasons, on the other hand, focuses on action. Players have to collect eight Essences of Nature to rescue Din - also known as the Oracle of Seasons. He was kidnapped by Onox and imprisoned in their mountain fortress.

<![CDATA[[E3 2019] Is Gods & Monsters A Copy Of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild?]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/e3-2019-is-gods-monsters-a-copy-of-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-4003 Thu, 13 Jun 2019 03:15:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/e3-2019-is-gods-monsters-a-copy-of-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-4003
Gods & Monsters, that has just been announced in E3, is coming to Nintendo Switch and it looks almost the same as Zelda.]]>

Ubisoft’s Gods & Monsters and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have so much in common that can easily make people wonder if they just watched a cinematic trailer or a great robbery. This new title by Ubisoft has just been announced in E3 this year.

Godsandmonster
Gods & Monsters - the upcoming title from Ubisoft.

From beautiful, fairytale fields of grass, to the valiant pose of the elf-faced main character, anyone can mark this game as a “daylight theft.”

Gods & Monsters: E3 2019 Official World Premiere Cinematic Trailer

Despite the fact that Ubisoft and Nintendo have been known to have a close relationship, any lawyer in Kyoto (the hometown of Nintendo's headquarters) is likely to share the same thought at the moment: to take their action on her “look and feel” fundamentals.

Just take a moment to look at the new trailer of Gods & Monsters. It doesn't take a good intellectual property attorney to realize the situation. Though making any allegation about this copyright-related act from Ubisoft could be inappropriate and is not a wise move, players can't deny the fact that this Gods & Monsters title looks almost the same as Zelda.

Zelda
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released in 2017.

However, let's move to the next part as we've already made that point clear. Good news for you: the developer of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, one of the most enjoyable titles ever made, also created Gods & Monsters. The game has the same engine with Odyssey, but there is no similarity in their combat system, geography nor the graphic design.

Instead, Gods & Monsters tells a story of a fancy island where the legends of Ancient Greece will act as a storytelling factor to guide players through a series of combat and dungeon-esque puzzles in a wonderful adventure. It seems the dungeons mentioned will not be named "shrines", but anything can happen.

Ao
The team behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey is also developing Gods & Monsters.

Homer delivers the story of Gods & Monsters to his grandchildren and put them in this mysterious world by a magic lyre. This is where players creating their own character named Fenyx, who will begin his adventure to help Zeus and the residents of Olympus fight against Typhon and his monstrous creatures.

According to Greek belief, Typhon is the name of a towering creature that looks like a snake. His desire is taking the throne from Zeus, which is fundamental for a lot of fictitious creatures from ancient Greece. However, this is considered a good way to introduce kids to the Hellenic pantheon in our modern world.

Godsgods
The game is inspired by Greece mythology.

In fact, Gods & Monsters' combat system is much likely to be suitable for kids, especially it seems to not follow the brutality of Assassin's Creed. The game also offers a huge number of magical abilities and light RPG with crafting materials.

Despite the point we've made earlier, Gods & Monsters is still a promising title. It must be so exciting to try it when it comes to PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Windows PC, Xbox One, and... Nintendo Switch.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an old game, but it has yet to show its age just for how much re-play value it holds and how fun it is to do so.]]>

The video game industry churns out gems that are worth playing and sticking to each year, and 2019 is no different. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Metro Exodus are just two examples of good titles released in the first quarter of this year. Nonetheless, the newest addition to the classic series of The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild is still a worthwhile play two years down the road.

Timeless

In spite of the different flavors of gaming that this year and the year before offers, it seems like Hyrule and its trope of characters is still a personal favorite amongst many gamers. And me, as well. It is rather strange to think that a two years old game that I had played for hundreds of hours could still be this attractive and fun.

That is not to say that current games are not as good: There are some that have great storylines, amazing graphics, and technologies that are pushing the boundary of gaming. But there is one thing they all have in common that cannot really beat Breath of the Wild in my mind is that … they’re not Breath of the Wild. There is something about the game’s open design and a lively world that just invites you into the experience. And it is that same experience when you feel as if you are enraptured by the virtual world is what makes picking up the Nintendo Switch and returning to Hyrule time and time again so effortless and fun.

Main Day
The fantasy world of Hyrule is teeming and pulsing with life.

Much to Explore

And in that sense, it is kind of pity for people who were able to speed-run the game and complete it in a couple of days following its release. The world within Breath of the Wild is substantial that, like tea, you really have to kick back and feel the world to truly comprehend its beauty and size. While it may sound like a ramble, I am fairly sure that even when you have done a couple of shrines, beaten all of the major dungeons, and defeated the final ‘boss’: Ganon, once you returned you could still find things unexplored.

Maxresdefault 1
Defeating Ganon is not the end of the game. Rather, it is a new beginning.

I mean, I have done all of the above and people are still telling me that there are still things to do: There are still dozens of shrines left for me to find an innumerable amount of Korok seeds spread throughout Hyrule. Despite the fact I have been playing the game for quite some time, the world doesn’t feel like it is ‘over’ like most open world games I had played. Nintendo really knows how to make a re-playable game.

The world’s ‘open’ structure means that even after a long time away, rebooting the game doesn’t feel awkward and have to struggle to remember which part that save was at. There is not a solid mission structure you have to follow. Instead, you’re free to do whatever you want. The worst re-acquaintance phase you’re going to get is probably the controls, the combat, and the enemies, which you would learn how to tame in a couple of minutes or less.

Now that you no longer have to chase after the main quests, the little side quests would suddenly become interesting, as I have learned. Just before this, you were on a relentless push to complete the game, now, it’s just exploration of a remarkably lively world.

These dragons are rare sights in the game that most new players wouldn't focus upon. But as a re-player, however, it would be endlessly amusing trying to spot them.

That is why the game can become a perfect and timeless gaming companion. Its compatibility with the Nintendo Switch also makes it rather convenient for you to play the game on the go. On a bus to school? About to go to bed? Maybe at the party you don’t want to be at? Hyrule is just a couple button presses away, and it offers massive entertainment and fun.

Brilliant Philosophy

The game is designed so that there are little mechanisms and features in place that you might miss out on the first play-through, but once you returned and started experimenting, you’d have a laugh once you had discovered them. After all, someone told me that you wouldn’t appreciate stealth until your 70th hour in the game, and that is so true.

All in all, it is the design philosophy behind Breath of the Wild that makes it so worthwhile. Exploration is not treated as if it is just a narrative device to get the players from the beginning of the game to the ending. Instead, the game designers take exploration and make it ‘the end’ of the game: Once you have completed the main quest, the game’s still not over, and the cycle of exploration and discovery only ends until you have decided to stop playing the game for good.

Sdptsv5gizd01
There are always new things to see and strange things to discover.

Something that I realized might very well be impossible. I can’t remember how many times I have told myself that I would not play Breath of the Wild again until - months later, I found myself back again.

VR Compatibility Incoming

If you’re looking for a different motivation to get back or get into the game, in a couple of week Nintendo will release an update that makes Breath of the Wild compatible with VR. And I’m fairly sure that Hyrule - already beautiful through the little screen of my Switch - will be breathtaking through the Nintendo Labo VR headset. Heralding a couple of weeks of my life lost to the game once more.

Why don't play through The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in VR? ]]>

Recently we have the announcement of Nintendo that both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey will get support on the Nintendo Labo VR platform. Following that, we have received the exact details on how the BOTW will work when they release the free VR update on the 26th of April.

How to get it works?

Takuhiro Dohta (technical director of Breath of the Wild) has said in an online post the details of what the fan can expect to see in on the combination of Nintendo Switch and the goggles in Labo Toy-Con VR with our most famous titles in 2017.

The control scheme will be similar to other standard games on the platform

According to him, first, they will need to execute the BOTW update on the 26th of April. To do this, they will need to open the menu, then go to System - Options, then toggle on the option for Toy-Con VR Goggles. After that, the users will need to place their Switch onto the VR Googles with both controllers connected to the sides. All the BOTW and Hyrule will be ready for them in VR. Noted that you could also turn off the motion control option as you want.

The control scheme will be similar to other standard games on the platform. As the players move their head, the in-game camera will move with them. We also have the recommendation from Nintendo to use the VR Googles when "there's something interesting to see, like a location with a great view, a favorite character, or a favorite piece of equipment."

Zelda: Breath of The Wild VR

The intention of Nintendo with this release of BOTW on VR is to "add a little twist to the world of Hyrule" and also give the players something new to explore in the game. By the way, this new mode will also work with your save data of the game, so you could keep continuing on your grand adventure in VR mode.

Nintendo said that the development team of Labo has given a demo to the BOTW team of the VR Goggles which give birth to this new idea.

Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild will get the VR support on the 26th of April.
