GTA 6 is going to be the next game in the popular Grand Theft Auto series. While there has not been any official release date or even confirmation from Rockstar, information still leaked out occasionally. Overall, based on insider sources, it is rumored to come out in 2023.

However, in later development, it is revealed that fans might have to wait even longer. Reports claim that the game is in "development hell" and not going as planned. In this article, we are going to list out everything available about these particular GTA 6 leaks.

1. Reports claim GTA 6 development is in peril.

This leak was revealed by Rockstar Mag's Chris, who has been a very reliable source for GTA series leaks. Apparently, Grand Theft Auto 6 development is currently in chaos. Rockstar restarted its development right after Dan Houser left the company, with its publisher Take-Two planning on announcing the game in 2020.

The news was revealed to fans through a video. However, it is in French and you will need to translate the captions to English. Below are the most important points from the GTA 6 leaks:

• Rockstar has changed the story and gameplay elements too many times since 2019. Therefore, fans won't see any announcement any time soon.
• This is the most chaotic project for Rockstar Games, even more than GTA IV and RDR.
• The game takes place in two different time periods.
• Rockstar is aiming for a general audience for GTA 6. This means the extreme violence depictions in the series might be toned down.

2. Is a Red Dead Redemption Remaster in the work?

Apparently, Rockstar is porting the rest of its console exclusive lineup to PC. After Red Dead Redemption 2's release, the first game is being planned and in development for PS5 Xbox SX and PC. Overall, it will be an upgrade similar to the GTA Trilogy Remastered.

There is no release date for when we will get this remastered classic, but seemingly, it will be due before the release of GTA 6. Apparently, this remaster will get the same treatment as the GTA Trilogy remaster: Enhanced textures, enhanced looks, enhanced everything, but not reinventing the wheel.

Red Dead is one of the best games Rockstar ever made. After the massive success of Red Dead Redemption 2, it just makes sense to release its arguably more successful prequel to PC.

Red Dead Redemption Remastered is apparently in the early stages of development and is a long way off from release.

Outside of this remaster, there are no plans for GTA IV remaster or GTA V's new content update. Furthermore, GTA V's new content could face yet another delay to April or May.

5 - Grand Theft Auto III

In this game, you would step into the shoes of a criminal out for revenge... after escaping from the back of a prison truck. The game is played from a 3rd-person perspective and you can navigate its world by either foot or vehicle. The open-world design lets players freely roam the three main islands of Liberty City.

You would be working your way up the crime world, assassinating, transporting illegal materials, prostitution, dealing drugs... and getting up to all sorts of mayhem. These are the topics that were often avoided at the time.

4 - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Release: 2002

Vice City is an expansion of GTA III's concept, bringing players to the neon lights of the City of Vice. Vice City is based on Miami in the 1980s, which is a highly varied urban sprawl ranging from beaches to swamps, glitz to ghetto. You would follow the footsteps of mobster Tommy Vercetti on his revenge journey and slowly building a criminal empire - seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city.

The voiced character and the improved storyline are probably the best improvements that Vice City has over its predecessors. Everything else is more or less the same as GTA 3.

3 - Red Dead Redemption

Release: 2010

While Red Dead Redemption did the gameplay part pretty well, its best feature is probably the storyline. Red Dead Redemption is set during the decline of the American frontier in the year 1911 and follows John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun. Having no other choice, Marston sets out to bring three members of his former gang to justice.

The result is one of the best stories ever told in a game, with a lengthy collection of memorable one-liners as well as an unforgettable final act.

2 - Grand Theft Auto V

Release: 2013

There's not much else that you can say about GTA V, as everyone probably already knows it. It is the most successful Rockstar game on this list. GTA V offered a deep, engaging story mode filled with great missions and sympathetic characters in the city of Los Santos. The gunplay, driving mechanics, and physics have been retooled since GTA IV to make combat more exhilarating.

While its story might not be as good as Red Dead Redemption, its combination of a good story and a robust single-player campaign is definitely something harder to accomplish.

1 - Red Dead Redemption II

Release: 2018

After a long wait, Red Dead Redemption II finally released and exceeded players' expectations. It features a ridiculously complex world filled with intractable NPCs that maintain schedules, realistic ecosystems where animals hunt one another, which has never been attempted before on any AAA games.

This complexity and allure of this world are only matched by the masterful storytelling in Red Dead Redemption II’s campaign. You would step into the gang leader Arthur Morgan on his adventures across the western front as an outlaw.

Take-Two's stock has just gone up today, which causes a little bit of a shock in the video game industry.  A report from Market Watch speculates that the reason behind this unexpected 4.7% rise is because Sony is in high-level negotiations to acquire the American publisher. If that is indeed the case, and if the deal actually went through, that would mean Take-Two and all its subsidiary developers, including Rockstar Games, Hangar 13, and Firaxis, would be coming under Sony's roof.

The rumor, which reportedly came from Los Angeles-based investment firm Wedbush Securities, doesn’t offer any details, simply claiming that Sony is currently in "advanced board level discussions to acquire Take-Two Interactive in a mostly cash deal."

No other source for this rumor is available yet. Everybody is straight up denying it. Many sites have reported news about this, but all seem to lead back to Wedbush. As a result, this entire affair is most likely more speculative fiction than fact.

Furthermore, considering that Take-Two declined acquisition attempt from Electronic Arts a few years ago due to the fact that the cash offers were not sufficient enough, it seems incredibly unlikely that Sony would be willing to go big and just outright buy the publisher.

If this did end up happening, though, it would secure several of the biggest gaming licenses to the PlayStation platform, but at the same time it would also reduce the potential revenue of Take-Two by as high as two-thirds, not to mention rendering a huge part of the company totally redundant. Moreover, it would lead to the upcoming sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds becoming the very first game made by a Microsoft-owned company and published by a Sony-owned company for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, which would be an interesting anomaly indeed.

Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar, says that he is glad that Red Dead Redemption 2 is the next game of the studio to be released. The reason is that he doesn't want to release Grand Theft Auto 6  while Donald Trump is still the president of the USA.

On answering an interview held by GQ magazine, Houser regarded the political environment nowadays in the US as a factor that makes it "really unclear what we would even do with it, let alone how upset people would get with whatever we did."

Grand Theft Auto games from Rockstar have been widely known for its sarcastic view on the controversial issues of society. Let us take a look at the Civil Border Patrol in GTA5 for an example. These are idiots who try to capture immigrants who are "dangerous and illegal". In truth, though, these immigrants are nothing like the descriptions. In order to complete the "American Welcome" mission, players have to use a taser to stun and catch Mexicans, even though they are regarded as legal citizens.  An irritating "private military corporation" makes a frequent appearance in the game, and the political viewpoints of both the extreme left and right-wing are the topics to make fun of on radio stations.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a little different as the background of the game is a century ago and its issues were, obviously, not the kinds that we have today. But according to Houser, there will still be the presence of sensitive matters in the past, such as racial discrimination and gender inequality.
