These 5 Options Let You Enjoy AAA Games Like PUBG & Assassin's Creed Without A Gaming PC]]> https://gurugamer.com/reviews/best-game-streaming-service-12207 Sun, 16 Aug 2020 16:36:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/reviews/best-game-streaming-service-12207
Looking for the best game streaming service? These 5 services are truly the cream of the crop when it comes to streaming AAA games directly to your device.]]>

Video game streaming services are still something relatively new to the industry. They give you remote access to some of the best titles you can find on the market today. But how do you find the best game streaming service among them?

Each one is a bit different, but basically what the best gaming streaming services all do is offer streaming video games in the style of Netflix or Hulu. This means that you will not need a very advanced PC, nor will you need a lot of storage space on your computer.

Instead, what you need is a stable internet connection. From options such as Google Stadia, PlayStation Now or GeForce Now, the best game streaming platforms out there all have something to offer.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

In addition to the fact that the cost of maintaining a subscription to a streaming service is significantly lower than constantly buying new games, whose prices are considerably high, the best video game streaming service also allows you to immediately enjoy the action without having to wait for large installations or upgrades to finish.

Now that you have an idea of what the best game streaming service can do, let's answer the question of 'What is the best game streaming service?' with a list of 5 best game streaming platforms out there.

Top 5 of the Best Game Streaming Service Available

Table of Contents

 • GeForce Now (PC, Mac, Nvidia Shield)
 • Shadow (PC, Mac, iOS, Android)
 • Jump (PC, Mac)
 • Google Stadia (PC, Mac, Chrome)
 • PlayStation Now (PS4, PC)

GeForce Now (PC, Mac, Nvidia Shield)

Have a low-end Mac or PC, but want to play the latest AAA games? With GeForce Now, you can play the latest and greatest from top video game companies without worrying about your computer overheating.

GeForce Now is not a content service like many of the other services on our list. You have to purchase the games you want to play via a digital store, such as Steam, Uplay, or Blizzard's Battle.net.

Once you have installed the application on your machine, GeForce's cloud-based processors will allow you to run the game on any device, regardless of its specifications.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

The service requires a higher internet download speed (25 Mbps minimum and 50 Mbps recommended) and you must have MacOS 10.10 or higher, or Windows 7 64-bit or higher to run it.

An Ethernet connection or Wi-Fi connection using a 5 GHz router is required, and you can use a mouse and keyboard setup or one of several gamepads.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

GeForce Now supports a wide variety of games, though remember that you have to purchase the games before using them with the service. That doesn't stop it from being the best game streaming service of its kind.

The list of games includes Assassin's Creed Origins, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Injustice 2, Sid Meier's Civilization VI, and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, to name a few.

GeForce Now is currently in beta testing, and is free for users during the trial period. If you are interested, you can sign up for the waiting list on its official website.

Shadow (PC, Mac, iOS, Android)

Shadow by Blade differs from other streaming services in that in addition to providing access to a select library of games, it also provides its users with a whole Windows 10 experience, to install any game or launcher you want on your PC.

Shadow's infrastructure is also impressive and the best game streaming service in this regard. It runs on professional graphics cards that offer the same performance as Nvidia's GTX 1080s, along with 12GB of RAM and an incredible 1Gbps download speed.

Thus, terabyte games can be downloaded in a matter of minutes. If your internet connection is good enough, you can stream games up to 144Hz in 1080p, or 60Hz in 4K, without any lag.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

There are also apps available not only for PC and Mac, but also for iOS, Android, and even Ubuntu. Although, for the price that Shadow will have in the future, it is somewhat expensive compared to the competitors.

Jump (PC, Mac)

The game streaming services we mentioned are mostly focused on big-budget AAA games from major producers, but there are times when you might be more interested in a standalone game made by a small studio, and Jump is the best game streaming service for that.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

Jump offers a latency-free streaming service that, according to the company, is on par with what you might expect from a game fully installed on your device. Whether you play on a Windows PC, Linux PC, or a Mac, you can play in the service's game library.

Your save data is stored in the cloud, so you can always pick up the game where you left off, even if you change devices. Another cool feature is that there are no microtransactions in any of Jump's games, and it's also compatible with VR goggles like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

The only caveat with Jump is that the technology used, called "HyperJump", uses the hardware on your local system to run games. This means that your system will have to be able to support it, although most of the games offered through Jump are not particularly demanding.

The list of options included in the $5 monthly subscription cost features a wide variety, such as well-known indie games like Cook, Serve, Delicious, Gunhouse, Nidhogg, and The End is Nigh.

New games are added every month, with 70 percent of the proceeds going to developers whose games are included in the Jump library. You can try the system for free for two weeks, and subscriptions can be canceled at any time.

Google Stadia (PC, Mac, Chrome)

Available since the end of last year, Google Stadia promised to revolutionize the streaming market to become the best game streaming service, with a wide catalog and high display resolutions of up to 4K at 60 FPS.

It is closely related to YouTube, and the dedicated buttons on its controller will allow you to go from watching a video or trailer of the game, to playing it in just a few seconds.

Stadia has an incredibly powerful technology that can give you this experience, allowing the platform to transmit high quality graphics on any screen, PC, Mac or Chrome.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

You should know that Google wants you to use Stadia anywhere or on any device, including your tablet, smartphone, or even with Chromecast for TV.

And the Stadia Premiere Edition subscription also includes a Chromecast Ultra device to connect the platform to your Smart TV screen and have a full-screen gaming experience. The subscription is free for the first three months.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

Once the trial period is over, Stadia has a monthly cost of $9.99 per month, with the possibility of canceling the subscription at any time. You only need to have a Google account to enjoy this new platform.

PlayStation Now (PS4, PC)

Sony has some of the best top-of-the-line video games, but you needed to have one of the company's consoles to be able to play them. But PlayStation Now is the best game streaming service that lets you play exclusive PlayStation games on your PC or PlayStation 4.

For your computer, all you need is a DualShock 4 controller with a wireless adapter or mini USB cable, as well as a PlayStation Network account and at least 5 Mbps of internet download speed.

If you have a PlayStation 4, you need the same internet speed on your console, and with a 7-day free trial or paid subscription, you'll be ready to have fun with the best PlayStation exclusive games.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

The PlayStation Now service features some old PlayStation exclusives, such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, The Last of Us, Until Dawn, and God of War III: Remastered.

It also supports various third-party games, such as Dishonored, Batman: Arkham Origins, BioShock Infinite, and Saints Row IV.

Best Game Streaming Service Top 5 List

New games are added every month, and the full catalog now includes more than 600 titles. PlayStation Now costs $10 for a one-month subscription, or $25 for a three-month subscription. The annual cost is $60.

<![CDATA[Google Stadia Pro's Two Free Games Next Month Are Rise Of The Tomb Raider And Thumper!]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-thumper-free-google-stadia-pro-8380 Sat, 28 Dec 2019 04:50:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-thumper-free-google-stadia-pro-8380
You have three more days to purchase your subscription and get 4 more free games this month!]]>

Google Stadia is still very young and not many players are aware of the cloud-gaming platform of Google. As a result, it needs a decent marketing strategy to spread its influence to the gaming industry, and nothing is more influential than free games!

Every month, Google Stadia will add two more free games into its gallery for Google Stadia Pro subscribers. Starting with its official launch in November 2019, the services are currently bringing 4 great games onto the free-shelf, and next month welcome two new great freebies: Rise of the Tomb Raider and Thumper.

You can find the brief information on these two games below:

1. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration

The Tomb Raider series has gone through a lot of up and down along its history, and Rise of the Tomb Raider marks an important milestone of that journey: the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Released in 2015 followed by the 2016's anniversary edition, the game saw a huge jump in visual quality from the previous title in 2013. You can see its trailer below:

Still Lara Croft, still her daredevil's stunts on her journey to raid tombs, Rise of the Tomb Raider definitely shocked the industry for getting nominated in over 85 "Best Of" awards with its goods. The success of this installment might come from its intriguing story with Lara Croft become more of a raider with her journey in Siberia, but we cannot forget to mention how beautiful the snowy landscape her was portrayed in the game.

Rise of the Tomb Raider saw a huge improvement in image quality and gameplay

The Woman vs. Nature in this game was demonstrated almost perfectly with life-like actions and stunts. The environments have a lot to challenge Lara: from the severe weather to the unstable landscapes that force the main heroine to put her skills into a true test.

Overall, Rise of the Tomb Raider is by far the best Tomb Raider game that you can play up to now, especially with Shadow of the Tomb Raider is too demanding in specs and lack of story twists, causing it mostly appears in benchmark tests.

The best Tomb Raider game among all so far!

2. Thumper

Doesn't have the same level of reputation as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Thumper still knew how to impressed players in its own way. In general, Thumper is a rhythm game where you will control your spaceship, follow the beat to blow devastating strikes to the giant voids from hell in front of you.

You can plug your earphone in and enjoy the upbeat music as well the nauseously fast speed of the game in the trailer below:

Speaking about VR Rhythm games nowadays, the youngsters only know the name of Beat Saber, but little know that there used to be a game that has outdone Beat Saber in both visualizations and players' experience. It's Thumper, a "brutal rhythm" game that might make both you and your enemies suffering at the same time.

To be more specific, the game will put you in an insanely-fast speed ride to take down the giant wicked entities. Follow the endless soundtrack, you'll have to press the one-and-only button that the game asks you to in perfect time to charge up your energy, and blow a powerful shot onto the enemies ahead.

Everything in this game looks fantastic!

It sounds very normal, but the special thing about Thumper is its visuals with eye-popping visualization for... everything. It includes the bosses' wriggling actions, the animation of your charging and shot, the reaction when the bosses get hit, and also the environment changes after you cross a brand new dimension, too.

Everything is made so detailed and smoothly that you will be able to recognize the slightest changes in every action. Together with the upbeat music, Thumper is truly a bliss for music-based game fans.

The visual and audio quality of Thumper is too good for a rhythm game!

When will these games be free?

Rise of the Tomb Raider and Thumper will be free to claim for Google Stadia Pro users on January 1. That also means you still have three days left to grab the four free games of this month.

They are Farming Simulator 19 Platinum Edition, Destiny 2: The Collection, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and Samurai Showdown. Most of this game is lying on the shortlist of Steam Awards 2019, so you won't have to hesitate on downloading them regarding their quality.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider Thumper Free Google Stadia
A fighting game, a simulator, two action-adventure games, that is enough for every kind of player!

And if you haven't got your Stadia Pro subscription yet, you can purchase it with only $9.99 per month - which is much lower than the price of most recent games. Stadia Pro users will get access to the aforementioned games in 4k resolution, 60fps, and 5.1 surround audio.

Even though Stadia is still new, if it continued this pricing strategy and the monthly free games, it might become a tough contestant for any current names in the industry!

<![CDATA[Gylt - The First Stadia-Exclusive Game - Released Its Launch Trailer!]]> https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/gylt-the-first-stadia-exclusive-game-released-its-launch-trailer-7743 Thu, 14 Nov 2019 06:49:00 +0000 https://gurugamer.com/pc-console/gylt-the-first-stadia-exclusive-game-released-its-launch-trailer-7743
It's going to come out right after Google Stadia is launched, and will stay exclusive for this platform for a limited time.]]>

Back in June with the reveal of Google's cloud gaming platform - Stadia, we've announced you about the first game to become exclusive to this platform. Its name is Gylt - a beautiful horror game about fearing and defeating the shapes of your nightmare.

However, at that time, we only have some information about its story and gameplay, and no specific release date was given by the developer Tequila Work. But now, as Stadia will launch on November 19, Gylt will follow to star on the service as well!

In order to celebrate this announcement, the developer has dropped a new trailer of the game - showing the eerie atmosphere that the protagonist has to overcome to find her cousin. We invite you to watch this trailer with us below (I can't stand horror alone):

The story of Gylt

Tequila Works has always been famous for their storytelling specialty, especially through the non-verbal masterpiece RiME. And now, the developer is back, adapting with the new gaming mechanics from Google to deliver another ambitious title - Gylt.

Gylt is the next game from Tequila Works

Gylt is a hauntingly beautiful story of Sally - a young woman on her journey to find her lost cousin - Emily. The story takes the settings of a sorrowful town, in which the worst nightmares are wandering in every shape and form of dangerous creatures. Sally is only a mundane human, and she can't stand a chance of getting caught by those nightmares.

Fortunately, she has the power of light by her side with her flashlights and fire extinguisher - which she can use to get rid of the monsters. However, there are plentiful of nightmares in this town, and those things are definitely not enough.

Hence, Sally will have to stay away from their sight while finding clues on where her cousin went. Besides the horror elements, Gylt also wants to convey the meaningful message: always ready to face the emotions that you're owning, and overcome your worst nightmares.

Gameplay features

Basically, Gylt is a third-person horror game, in which you'll step into the shoes of the main protagonist Sally to explore this melancholic town. At first looks through two trailers of the game, Gylt has some vibes of Silent Hill and Alan Wake, both in gameplay and in the overall atmosphere.

To be more specific, you'll control Sally avoiding the nightmarish creatures scattering around the town. Your objective is to find your lost cousin Emily, and in order to do that, you'll have to gain certain clues on the disappearance of her, and figure out where she is now.

The game mainly features atmospheric RPG experiences with stealth mechanics and a slight touch of puzzle-solving. Hiding behind the environment, you'll then find a good chance when the dangerous creatures are not watching to sneak behind them and get to your place. But if they caught you, you can still use your flashlights and fire extinguisher to get rid of them temporarily.

The visuals of this game are haunting yet very beautiful that looks like a Pixar movie. However, don't let its aesthetic looks fool you since this game was rated for Teen from ESRB. This means it contains several violent factors and engrossing images. But that's very necessary for a horror game, so I don't give any hoot!

Release date and supported platforms

Gylt will launch for Google Stadia on November 19 - right the same day the platform comes out to the public.

It will stay exclusive with this platform for a while and then reaches other platforms eventually. This information was confirmed by Raúl Rubio Munárriz - the co-founder of Tequilla Works, and he also affirmed that everyone will be able to play Gylt at a time.

We have a lot of gaming subscription services like Netflix now, but what will happen if they become the only option for us to play video games?]]>

Twenty years ago, no man in his right mind could imagine a cheap, convenient movie watching service like Netflix. But the development of technology has enabled so many things beyond the imagination of our parents and grandparents. The same story does happen with the video game industry. Back in the old day, we all had to come to the video game shops to get a physical copy of our favorite game. We were fine with that (actually, we were happy with that). But then Steam showed up. More than 16 years ago, on September 12th, 2003, Steam was launched, and it has changed everything in the video game industry.

Social Og
Steam has definitely changed the way this industry works

Technically speaking, Steam is still a video game shop, the buyers still actually own their games, but Steam has created the pathway for the Netflix-style subscription service within the video game industry. Netflix is still happily living with movie theaters and other classic movie watching forms like physical tapes. The movie industry is too big to have one form of content providing method, but the video game industry is a totally different story. If gaming subscription services somehow become the only option for gamers to play their favorite video games, a lot of interesting things will happen.

Untitled Design 3
We already have a lot of gaming subscription services in the market now

Nowadays, we have Xbox Game Pass from Microsoft, Uplay Plus from Ubisoft, PlayStation Now from Sony, EA Access from EA, Apple Arcade from Apple, and Google Stadia from Google. And we can’t say for sure that we have listed all the gaming subscription services. With so many services in the industry, gamers are often confused. Moreover, all of those services look really fragile. They do not seem to be able to last three years. We predict that the services that only support one game publisher will have to leave the market eventually. There have been a lot of television companies saying goodbye to Netflix and Hulu to establish their own subscription services.

Applevsgoogle 900x578
Google Stadia and Apple Arcade will join the market soon, so the competition will be much more severe

At last, we believe that there will at max be the three biggest services staying alive in the market. For now, we can’t say for sure what services have high chances to survive, but all services are trying their best to gather more subscribers. Not just that, those companies also offer great deals for loyal subscribers so that they will keep their subscriptions going on. All the big companies that we have listed above are preparing the best “gears” for their “babies” because they all know that this gaming subscription war will be much more severe than the movie subscription war.

GameStop – one of the biggest physical video game stores in the USA – is going down quite dramatically. The end for GameStop has been predicted by the experts, so gamers will need a place to get their video games. Online game shops like Steam are clearly good alternatives, but then gaming subscription services are also a good choice. You only need to sacrifice about three or four dinners in a fast food store to get access to a huge video game library for 30 days. The relatively small initial cost for gaming subscription service has always been the main reason for gamers to take a leap of fate.

3743198 1200x
If you can stop eating these things, you can already afford a gaming subscription for a month

Some gamers may leave after a few months, but a lot of other people will stay. If you actually pay attention to a game, you can surely finish that game within a month. For the AAA titles, they may cost you two months or a bit more, but in the end, you still can gain some financial benefit for yourself if you take a gaming subscription service over. Moreover, once you buy your game, you only have that game. If you do not like that game, sorry, you can do nothing about that. Meanwhile, with the subscription services, you can try a huge amount of the titles to find your favorite ones.

Things may seem to be a bright vision for gamers, but if we have no physical and online game shops left, the gaming subscription services will surely start to roll out exclusive games. If you want to play those exclusive titles, you have no other options except for subscribing to those services. Netflix has been doing that for a few years, and that method works fine. Perhaps that will actually be the final outcome for the subscription war in the gaming industry if the idea of owning a video game for yourself no longer exists.

Maxresdefault
Perhaps in the future we will see things like Google Stadia Original, just like Netflix Original now

But, as we can see, Netflix still has to co-exist with cinemas. That story will surely happen to the gaming industry. The feeling of completely owning something can never be replaced, and the number of video game collectors keeps going up every year. People are still willing to pay thousands of dollars for a classic physical version of old video games, and that is completely fine. Just let people do the things that they like. It is the job of the gaming companies to serve their customers.

Screenshot 11
When there are still people who are ready to play Rs 71 Lakh for a copy of this, gaming subscription still can't take over the industry

That is why we believe this co-existing ecosystem will continue to dominate the video game industry for the next upcoming years. There will always be some space for those who actually to own their video games. There will always be some space for those who want to collect the classic physical copies of old video games. But the gaming subscription services will certainly dominate the industry. It is actually a cost-effective choice for gamers and for game publishers. Those services have provided a lot of space for indie titles, so they may be the best option to balance the relationship between gamers, game developers, and game publishers.

Although that vision seems to be really good and achievable, only time can truly answer us.

A brand new Satadia exclusive game from Google has been introduced and will be available in 2020.]]>

Recently, at Google's Stadia Connected event, a game exclusively on Stadia - Get Packed - was officially introduced. This multiplayer game can turn the process of packing up a house before moving into a “quest” filled with mayhem, havoc and also frustrating revolving doors.

Get Packed 3
Packing your house has never been harder

During the very first Stadia Connect event of Google, there were a few new announcements made today, consisting of some new games that will come to this platform soon. Among those game was a brand new multiplayer one called Get Packed. This is a product of Moonshine Studios. You can check out for more information right below.

In this game, you, along with other three friends of yours, in preparation for a big move, are packing up your house.

However, this time it seems way more difficult than usual. Having countless obstacles to pack and manage, it makes the short path between you living room and the moving truck unbelievably dangerous.

In the trailer, you can see uncontrollable forklifts, exploding cars and also slides which are not supposed to be in others’ houses. The studio also makes sure that the revolving doors players will see in the game are the most menacing ones they have ever seen.

This four-player carnage is very likely to become a big blast.

The game supports not only couch but also online co-op. Therefore, no matter where you all are, you can still play this game together as long as you own Stadia.

Ever since Overcooked! became successful, there are quite a lot of similar games like this one. That is also why there is currently an influx of weird, havoc four-player games. But at least, it will help us see how good Stadia’s explosive-filled, fast-paced gameplay stream can be when there are four people playing together.

The way from your kitchen to the van is now extremely dangerous

The game will be available exclusively on Stadia next year.
