Video games movie is getting better and better now - with a lot of new successful titles like Sonic Movie to Detective Pikachu or Ready Player One. And now, one of the biggest names is making its revival - the Mortal Kombat movie is going to be released in theaters and HBO MAX on April 16. About Mortal Kombat 2021

The protagonist of this story is a brand new character named Cole Young. He is a mediocre MMA fighter, who's unaware of his heritage... until his door was knocked down by an assassin from Outworld's emperor Shang Tsung. Getting hunted, Cole escapes to the temple of lord Raiden, an elder god who's the protector of Earthrealm... and begins his training for the Mortal Kombat tournament.

10. Taven

Taven was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon along with Daegon, his brother. He is a half-god and the oldest son of the Edenian god Argus and a sorceress.

Taven can control fire with many attack moves that you may find resemble with Liu Kang. He is also the first character to be introduced in the series with abilities to manipulate time and space. He can teleport himself to a far way destination and stop time temporarily.

Being his nature of being a half-god, Taven is one of the most powerful beings in Mortal Kombat, even stronger than his brother and has defeated most of the encounters in his journey.

9. Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung is one of the oldest characters in the Mortal Kombat series. He first showed up as the final boss in the first Mortal Kombat game.

Shang Tsung is an extremely powerful and dangerous sorcerer. He was cursed by a god which force him to consume soul to maintain his health and life or else he will age rapidly and die. But thanks to his magic, he can shape-shift into people whose soul were taken away. He will also be able to obtain their memory, power, not just their appearance.

Being a sorcerer, he has the ability to cast powerful spells, mostly associated with fire. While he has been beaten several times by Liu Kang and Shao Khan, he is still one of the most powerful villains in Mortal Kombat.

8. Quan Chi

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero was the first game that featured Quan Chi in 1997. Ever since he became a playable character in Mortal Kombat 4, Quan Chi has been showing up consistently in the Mortal Kombat universe.

Quan Chi is the strongest sorcerer and necromancer in the Netherrealm. Other than sorcery skills and the ability to control the dead, Quan Chi also has formidable brute strength. Like Shang Tsung, he can absorb soul and shape-shift. He used this ability along with many of his trick to manipulate his opponent as his will. Quan Chi was the one who tricked Scorpion into believing that Sub-Zero killed his entire clan and family.

7. Fujin

While Fujin is the God of Wind, he is one of the most underrated characters in Mortal Kombat. As a god himself, Fujin has the same power level as Raiden, the God of Thunder.

Fujin has full control of the wind element and can create powerful wind attacks such as strong tornadoes to send the enemies flying. Fujin first appeared in Sub-Zero Mythologies and proven to be immortal just like Raiden.

6. Shinnok

Shinnok also first appeared in Sub-Zero Mythologies along with Quan Chi and Fujin and became playable in Mortal Kombat 4. As the Elder God of Death, Shinnok is one of the strongest villains in the series.

Shinnok is the ruler of Netherrealm with the power and knowledge that takes millions of year to possess. He prefers using his magic, ancient artifacts, and manipulation to using brute strength. He can only mimic a limited number of abilities as he is a fallen Elder God. Only with his Amulet, can he regain full power and have even more fearsome abilities.

5. Liu Kang

Liu Kang has always been in the series from the beginning and is one of the most iconic characters. While he is only a human, he has won a total of 6 tournaments (4 in the original timeline and 2  in an alternate timeline). By only using his fist, kicks, and some fireball, Liu Kang has defeated powerful sorcerers, emperors, and even gods. He was referred to as the Immortal Champion of Mortal Kombat in later games.

4. Blaze

Blaze is such a powerful being that he can bring the Armageddon to the universe by devouring existence itself. He is an elemental being from Outworld. As his name implies, his body is surrounded by flame and he has full control over fire, lava, heat, etc.

Besides his massive power, Blaze also grants anyone who can defeat him absolute power along with a wish.

3. Onaga

Onaga is also known as The Dragon King, the former ruler of Outworld. Onaga was poisoned and had his realm being taken over by Shao Khan.

With the Kamidogu, no one can go head to head with Onaga. Even when Shang Tsung and Quan Chi combined force with Raiden, they couldn't leave a scratch on him.

As a dragon, Onaga has the ability to breathe fire and fly. Also, he can use magic and have regenerative abilities.

2. Shao Khan

Shao Khan first appeared as the final boss of Mortal Kombat 2. The ruler of Outworld has proven himself multiple times throughout the series such as defeating Blaze and gained the ultimate power.

Shao Khan is a great magic-user with immersive strength and durability that is comparable to Raiden. However, what makes him a very dangerous opponent is the way he achieves his goal and defeats stronger opponents. Although, he was too arrogance and overconfidence that he still got defeated Liu Kang and Raiden.

There is no other character apart from Raide, the God of Thunder deserves this spot. Even though Raiden is one of the oldest characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise, we haven't actually yet to see his true power as he is restricted by the rules of the Mortal Kombat tournament.

The God of Thunder is actually formless, but he usually takes form on mortal planes. He can freely control lighting and has immeasurable speed. He can create force fields, revive and heal others, along with the abilities to see the future.

Even when Shao Khan has defeated Blaze and gained omnipotent power, Raiden still managed to win by rebooting the universe and defeated both him and Liu Kang after that.

Joe Taslim, the martial artist and actor who is known for the role in The Night Comes For Us, The Raid: Redemption and Warrior, will take part in the next Mortal Kombat movie cast, starring Sub-Zero.

Mortal Kombat is the popular fighting game series created from Midway. The game has stirred up quite a lot of controversies, yet still, become widespread for its mix of realism and violence. The series has already had its eleventh installment release, and the company is currently working for the next one. If you’ re a fan of Mortal Kombat, the upcoming film is certainly added in the checklist.

Last year, an incomplete list of the cast for the movie was leaked with some familiar character named such as Raiden, Kano, Sonya Blade, and a new one called Cole Turner. However, writer Greg Russo has later confirmed on Twitter that the leaked cast list was from an old script, which didn’t list the cast fully.

The Mortal Kombat movie reboot will start filming in Australia later in 2019, with the first deal closed by Taslim. The director of Aquaman and Saw, James Wan, will be in charge of producing the upcoming Mortal Kombat. Simon McQuoid, who is famous for his commercial work with Range Rover, Halo, and PlayStation, will be the director.

Taslim made his name back in 2011 after his breakout role in The Raid: Redemption, featuring Iko Uwais, a martial arts star. The Raid: Redemption is a martial arts action movie of Indonesia about a group of SWAT members being trapped in a tenement run by a mobster. Later, Taslim also took part in the Fast & the Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond and The Night Comes For Us of Netflix, in which he once again worked with Iko Uwais. Most recently, the martial arts star appeared in the creation of Cinemax, Warrior.

There has not been much revealed about the upcoming reboot of Mortal Kombat, including the set release date and the film plot. We will update you as soon as we know something new. 

Creating live-action movies for video games was never an easy job in Hollywood. The number of failures is way more than the number of successful attempts. While the reasons behind this fact were mostly because of the poor screenwriting or bad casting, we should also mention another critical factor: movies do not always follow the original contents of video games. However, the team responsible for the reboot of the Mortal Kombat movie is going to maintain the true spirit of this fighting game.

Recently on a tweet, Greg Russo - the screenwriter of Mortal Kombat - has revealed some exciting news about the upcoming reboot. According to him, the movie will be Rated R, and Mortal Kombat fans will get to see classic fatalities go live on the big screens soon. There are no further details regarding which kinds of fatalities will make it to the movie. But it seems like just those words are enough to make Mortal Kombat fans excited.

In fact, Mortal Kombat movie series is not on the list of the worst video game movies in Hollywood. But they were definitely failed to live up to the audiences' expectation. While the toned down violence is not the main reason why those movies failed, it seems like giving Mortal Kombat fans a Rated-R movie is the right move.

What we've acquired so far is that the producers are working on the Mortal Kombat reboot while trying to keep it as true to the original games as possible. No detail on the plot is revealed. Still, the movie is very likely to tell the story of the original tournament. Fans should expect to see their favorite characters come to life such as Sonya Blade, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, and Raiden. By introducing fatalities and bringing these beloved casts in, it wouldn't be a surprise that the upcoming movie will be a successful one.

So far, the film casting list is only showing Sub Zero. With director Simon McQuoid and producer James Wan, the movie will start filming in South Australia.

Mortal Kombat is set to come out on March 5, 2021.

Players of the latest game of the franchise Mortal Kombat 11 are complaining about how much grinding they have to do in order to get all of its skin collection. But according to a Redditor, if you want to pay for all of it without grinding, the cost will not be comfortable.

The complaints come after many reviewers have praised the game as the best one in the series. In fact, you have to accomplish a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 requirements before completely owned the collection.

The issue is discussed in a Reddit post, in which the OP stated that if you don't want to grind to get all the skins, the amount of money you have to pay for them is $6,440, not to mention you need "perfect luck" and need to check the store every 6-8 hours when it is reset.

The game features 60 skins for its characters, and while 4 of them can be unlocked fairly easy, the rest of them are only offered through pop-ups for $5 each.

Responding to the calculation, Ed Boon, one of the franchise's creator, says that it is BS since that's not how the game works and you have to earn them via grinding. Most of them are not for sale also.

The huge amount of money that was given out ignored all the stats requirements such as fatalities that you need to get before having the skins.

After Boon's backlash, the original post was deleted on Reddit. But the problem remains as many still complain about how hard and unreasonable it is to complete all the grinding. Keep in mind that they are after all just cosmetics and you don't necessarily have to get them.

Yet, the complaints seem to work since Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm said while streaming that they are fixing the game. The official date for the changes wasn't stated, so we will have to wait.

There have been a lot of rumors going on about the Scooby Doo’s character Shaggy ever since the theory of Shaggy only using 10 percent of his power, amidst that, Fans of the Mortal Kombat 11 has been signing a petition to include the character in the game’s DLC.

The possibility of which character might be in the game is endless, which is only limited by the imagination of fans. Many players may think that the character has to be a big, bad, tough guy to have his own petition for being in the upcoming DLC, however, this is not the case. The character was the carefree, chicken-heart Shaggy from the Scooby Doo franchise.

A petition for signature which was held on Change.org with the purpose to request for Shaggy’s appearance in the game’s DLC and his long-time partner Scooby the dog.

Many would consider this simply as a joke, however, the number of signatures that have been collected might say otherwise. At present, over 44,380 people have logged into the website to contribute their support to the cause, and it is constantly rising. It would be interesting to see the hilarious character kicking some butt in the game.

It would be hilarious to include Shaggy in the game’s DLC, however, it is most likely not going to happen. Let’s not set aside the fact that Warner Bros is the co-publisher of Mortal Kombat and also current owner Scooby-Doo, however, it is doubtful that parents would want their children’s friendly character Shaggy and his companion Scooby to be turned into violent, blood-soaked fighters.
