Parrots are a rare Minecraft mob that perches on your shoulder and can mimic sounds from nearby hostile mobs. However, similar to other animal creatures in the game, a parrot will die after a while. The only way to keep it by your side is by taming and breeding them to expand the population.

How to breed Parrots in Minecraft?
Currently, we cannot breed Minecraft parrots like most other mobs as they have no baby form. Although they could previously be bred by feeding cookies, this feature has been altered, making it impossible to be manually spawned.
Therefore, the best way to get more parrots now is to tame them.
1. Find Parrots in Minecraft
The location you can find Minecraft parrots is the jungle biomes where they perch on low-hanging branches and tree leaves.
2. Use the Seeds
Seeds are the best items to feed and tame parrots. You can tame them by giving them melon seeds, beetroot seeds, or pumpkin seeds. Select the seeds in the Hotbar and place them in.
When you feed the seeds to them, grey smoke shall appear on their head. Keep feeding them until you can see the existence of red hearts.
Once being tamed, the parrot is able to ride on the player’s shoulder and mimic the sounds of mobs nearby. For example, if there is a creeper makes a hiss near where you are, the parrot will imitate this sound. However, this feature is not considered too practical sometimes.
Besides, a parrot will dance when it is near a jukebox that is playing music. When it is killed, it can drop one feather and from one to three EXP orbs.
Note: Make sure you don’t feed parrots cookies, since they will die if you do.
