It has been 1.5 years since Genshin Impact's release, and the developer miHoYo has managed to push out a huge amount of new content. While this is great for old players, it makes the game rather intimidating for new players to try to get into. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the 5 best tips for Beginners to start Genshin Impact in 2022.
1. Don't pull for Inazuma or new region characters
Players started in Mondstadt then move to Liyue and finally Inazuma. While it might be tempting to pull for Raiden or other characters in the banners, it is actually not a good idea at all
Genshin Impact restricts characters' ascension material and talent books to their region of origin. Because of this, players won't be able to level up Inazuma characters in the early game, where they can only access Mondstadt and Liyue. Players need Adventurer Rank 30 in order to get to Inazuma's main island, and even more to unlock the rest.
2. Aim for multi-role characters
In the early game, you usually don't have too many characters to choose from. Because of that, if you decide to pull for new ones, it is best to aim for multi-role characters like Xiangling, Xingqiu or Bennett.
By getting these characters up, players should be able to prepare a good lineup for whichever characters they managed to pull later.
3. Build a varied team for exploration
World exploration needs different characters compared to higher-end dungeons. While on dungeons like spiral abyss players are encouraged to run lineups that focus on a single element or reaction, open-world exploration needs a lot of variety. Players usually need to use elements to solve various puzzles and interact with items in the open world.
For example, a cryo character is needed to traverse water, or a polearm character is needed to mine minerals. Tall characters also swim and climb better than short ones. Players should also prepare a bow character to shoot enemies on elevated platforms.
4. New characters are better than constellations
As a new player, it is better to expand your roster rather than trying to get high-level constellations for a character you already have. Stacking constellations on one character very early on means you’re stuck with the same character, even if the main content hard counters it.
High level constellation is the realm of big spenders, with Genshin Impact having a super low 5 star rate of 0.6%.
5. Save your pity for Meta characters
The pity system in Genshin Impact essentially ensures that you receive certain ranks of characters after wishing a certain number of times. You’re guaranteed to win a 5-star character on your 90th wish on the Character Event banner.
Pity can be tracked by clicking the History button on the Wish page. If players almost reach pity count, it is important to delay their pull and wait for a banner with a good character.
