Griefers have always been a part of any online multiplayer game, and GTA Online is not an exception. They would randomly attack you and either try to kill or steal your money, which further hinders your progress. While griefers are definitely annoying, you can consider them a part of the challenge that you need to surpass.
Getting these 5 weapons would give you a better chance of dealing with them.
1. Heavy Sniper Mk II
The Heavy Sniper Mk II is an enhanced variant of the Heavy Sniper and is considered one of the top firearms in the game. Although it shares the same rate of fire and player multiplier (x1.39) as its predecessor, the MK II offers superior damage and the ability to instantly eliminate opponents using special ammunition.
This weapon is particularly effective against vehicles and aircraft, making it a valuable asset in combat. Additionally, the Heavy Sniper MK II is highly customizable, allowing players to attach a Thermal scope, Suppressor, and Long-range barrels to adapt to various combat scenarios. Moreover, it can utilize three different types of ammunition, each inflicting unique special effects.
2. Sticky Bombs
Sticky Bombs can be used as a cheaper replacement for the Car bomb in GTA Online. The player just needs to open a car door (preferably to the side other players do not use to enter the vehicle) and stick the bomb to the inside of the door, so when the door closes, the bomb is inside the vehicle.
Players can also stick a number of bombs outside of a blast-resistant vehicle and ram it into others so that they blow up at the same time, dealing crazy damage.
3. Insurgent Pick-Up
The HVY Insurgent Pick-Up is a Light Armored Personnel Vehicle (LAPV) added to GTA Online in the Heists Update. The strength of the Insurgent Pick-up is its tankiness - the car provides excellent protection when maxed, with the ability to tank up to 27 homing missiles and 14 RPGs (if occupied by a driver). Weapon-wise, it comes with a roof-mounted machine gun that can be controlled by anyone sitting in the rear cabin seats.
In terms of overall performance, the Insurgent Pick-up is lackluster in acceleration due to its weight... however, its top speed is acceptable. The weight also helps in keeping it grounded when cornering. Furthermore, the Insurgent is deadly for ramming - its full-speed charge can cripple or even disable many other road vehicles.
4. P-996 LAZER
The P-996 LAZER is probably the best fighter jet you can find in GTA Online. Being the most expensive plane on the roster ($6,500,000), it has the best speed, third highest acceleration and fairly sensitive handling.
Weapon-wise, the Lazer is more of a gun plane than a missile plane. It comes with dual explosive cannons that can finish off most enemies with a single well-aimed burst. Heavily armored targets like Avenger, Mobile Operations Center, or the Insurgent Pick-Up Custom can also be dealt with after sustained fire. However, in exchange for this high damage, the range of its gun is rather limited.
5. Up-n-Atomizer
The Up-n-Atomizer is a compact handheld raygun with a futuristic design, featuring a blue exterior and a yellow coil as its barrel. When aimed directly at a person or vehicle, it has the ability to propel them into the air, causing some damage. Even if the shot narrowly misses, it still possesses a small area-of-effect that triggers the launching effect.
In addition, using the Up-n-Atomizer can also free vehicles that have become immobilized, providing a solution for players who have inadvertently rendered them unable to move.
6. Hydra
The Hydra is an advanced military VTOL attack jet introduced in Grand Theft Auto Online through the Heists Update. It holds the distinction of being the first military jet available in the Grand Theft Auto series. With its unique ability to perform vertical take-offs and landings like a helicopter, it stands as the most sophisticated aircraft in the game.
Compared to its counterpart, the LAZER, the Hydra offers more adaptable controls and exceptional maneuverability, making it easier to operate. For players seeking to purchase an aircraft, the Hydra is often the preferred choice. It comes equipped with highly destructive explosive cannons, rockets, and highly accurate heat-seeking missiles. However, in exchange for their precision, the Hydra's missiles inflict roughly one-third of the damage caused by standard missiles.
7. Nightshark
The HVY Nightshark is an armored four-door SUV featured in GTA Online as part of the Gunrunning update. It is an armored SUV with a large and bulky design that can withstand up to four rockets from a Rocket Launcher (explodes after the fifth one). Its anti-missile capability is even higher - the Nightshark can tank up to 27 homing missiles when fully upgraded with a player inside.
Performance-wise, the Nightshark has great acceleration and good top speed, as well as great handling. The vehicle is also equipped with four retractable machine guns. Its only downside is that the windows are not bulletproof, meaning that players are vulnerable to gunfire.
Towing an Anti-Aircraft Trailer in collaboration with another player gives the vehicle increased potential against airborne targets.
8. RPG
For your heavy weapons, first, you would want the classic RPG. It is a great weapon against vehicles and campers hiding behind walls or on top of buildings.
The benefit of choosing the RPG over the homing launcher is its higher amount of rockets, 20 compared to 10. It's also better at lining up a precise shot where you aim it rather than locking onto any passing vehicles.
9. Chernobog
The HVY Chernobog is a weaponized Military vehicle that carries an amazing missile system that can blast any kind of flying vehicle out of the sky. Most griefers use flying vehicles like the OppressorMK2.
The rocket system can fire up to five rockets, either independently or in a quick burst. The lock-on range of missiles reaches an excessively high 1000 meters according to the game files (the same as the effective range of Marksman Rifle) and the guidance capability of missiles will even stress experienced pilots in P-996 LAZER.
The missiles are more accurate than most and can even turn around to pursue aircraft that they missed initially.
10. Homing Launcher
This is an advanced RPG launcher introduced to the game in 2014 through the Festive Surprise update. Despite being one of the oldest weapons in both GTA Online and the story mode, it remains highly effective. Using its Missile Lock-On technology, players can launch guided Homing Missiles at targets, causing extensive damage.
Even the fastest vehicles in the game won't easily escape from this weapon, making it a challenge for griefers. The Homing Launcher takes inspiration from the real-life SA-7 Grail and can be purchased for $75,000 from Ammu-Nation stores. It is frequently available in the Gun Van as well.
